Drawing with scissors/creating collage artworks with Alacoque Davey

In this hands-on workshop, you will have the opportunity to create a unique collaged artwork on a canvas panel to take home. Using painting, drawing, rubbing, and printing techniques, participants will first transform blank paper into sheets full of colour and pattern.

16 Nov 2024

1:00pm

2nd Floor, The Arches Centre, 11-13 Bloomfield Ave, Belfast, BT5 5AA

These papers will be set aside to dry, while we take a short break. Afterwards, we will dive into the creative process of ‘drawing with scissors,’ cutting our custom papers into motifs and shapes. From there, participants will explore composition and assemblage, arranging the cut-outs before finally fixing them in place to form personalised collages.

The focus of the workshop is on playful experimentation, allowing each participant to work at their own pace and discover the simple pleasure of working with paper and scissors. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to explore and have fun!

All materials provided.
