QSS artist Sharon Kelly has recently been awarded The Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant which will support the creation of new work / projects.
Kelly’s practice explores ideas around resilience, focusing on the mind-body synergy and incorporates drawing, video, installation and sculpture. Kelly is currently working with female boxers from Corinthians Boxing Club, north Dublin, as part of Dublin City Council Culture Company Sport & Arts Residency. In 2020 Kelly was awarded the Arts Council of Northern Ireland Fellowship at the British School at Rome. In March this year a retrospective exhibition of her work will open at the FE McWilliam Gallery and Museum, curated by Dr Riann Coulter. Kelly is based in QSS Artists Studios in Belfast.
Established in 1985 in support of Lee Krasner’s mission to advance the work of visual artists, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation has provided support to nearly 5,000 grantees who have received nearly $79 million across 78 countries to-date.
