Clement McAleer – How We Got To…

The Golden Thread Gallery is preparing to move to their new home in Belfast city centre with bespoke gallery spaces for exhibitions and a participation and engagement hub.

This new space has opened up opportunities for The Golden Thread to expand and grow, and has also reminded them of their past successes and achievements. As they await their new premises, they are taking time to reflect, from the first exhibition at Brookfield Mill, to fifteen years at Great Patrick Street.

With this in mind a selection of artists were asked to respond to their past encounters with GTG and provide a small work that can be part of a touring exhibition.  This exhibition will highlight Golden Thread Gallery’s rich history of delivering diverse artistic programming.

Work exhibited in “How We Got To…” will then enter the GTG permanent collection.
