Artist peer-critiques at QSS

As part of our 40th anniversary programme, we invited artist and lecturer Louise Wallace from the Belfast School of Art to facilitate peer-critique sessions at QSS. Our inaugural session was held on 31st October, featuring discussions on topics such as:

  • The diverse inspirations that shape our thinking as artists, from books and films to art historical references and classic TV shows
  • The overlooked work created on the periphery of our studio practice that rarely reaches a public audience
  • Techniques for completing work—both 2D and 3D—that has lingered in progress
  • Detailed considerations, such as recipes for medium mixes and innovative display options for drawings, sculptures, and studio ephemera

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Louise for a stimulating first session, joined by Alana Barton, Niamh Clarke, Daniel Coleman, Sinead McKeever, Tim Millen, and Anushiya Sundaralingam.

Our 40th anniversary programme is made possible with support from Belfast City Council, the Esme Mitchell Trust, and the Belfast School of Art.
