‘Transit’, by Anushiya Sundaralingam – R-Space

‘Transit’ showcases Anushiya Sundaralingam’s multi-disciplinary work through the lens of her personal journey navigating the perilous waters of the Sri Lankan civil war. In this exhibition, the artist weaves together threads of memory, displacement, and the universal human experience of migration.

The exhibition features three-dimensional skeleton boats, original prints, drawings, and an installation that depict the uncertainty and peril of these journeys. Each brushstroke and delicate line capture the essence of navigating darkness and uncertainty. These works mirror the resilience of those who traverse tumultuous seas in search for refuge and belonging.

‘Transit’ opens from 24th August and runs until 20th September, with an opening reception from 2 – 4pm on Saturday 31st August. The exhibition is on display from Tuesday – Saturday, 11am – 5pm at R-Space in Lisburn. For details about the artist talk and textile workshop, you can head to the R-Space website below.
