QSS artist Ciaran Harper, recently exhibited in ‘Journey’ a multimedia exhibition at Titanic Belfast commemorating 400 years of the slave trade. The exhibition together with related events were organised by the African and Caribbean Support Organisation of Northern Ireland (ACSONI). Joseph Ricketts, manager of ACSONI, said in an interview with the Irish News, that the organisation ‘wanted to tell the story of a strong people who survived one of the most oppressive periods in history, and consider what this means for their learning and integration here in Northern Ireland‘.
